Camp Chenoa update July 2014 from GSGWM FB page
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152269471515735&id=109796030734 We would like to share with our membership that we have completed negotiations with potential buyers for the purchase of Camp Chenoa. Although there is due diligence to be completed, we wish everyone to be aware that the buyers plan to use the property both as a resident camp and for conservation education. As soon as the due diligence time period is complete, we will share more information with everyone. We are very happy that camp memories will continue to be created at the core camp site, but also that a majority of the property will be placed into conservation not to be developed in the future! --GSGWM CEO Patricia Mellor Girl Scout camp closing

http://www.unionleader.com/article/20130911/NEWHAMPSHIRE03/130919806&source=RSS Over those few years, instead of choosing a camp that offered activities like horseback-riding Girl Scouts could choose Chenoa and be part of the “Dream Builders,” groups of campers who helped construct the camp buildings and made improvements to the lake front. The girls wore hard hats and learned how to swing a hammer, she said. Member surveys, and design charettes with an architectural firm were conducted to gather input from throughout the council. |
