Girl Scout House sold, yard sale set

“It’s heart-breaking,” said Rhonda Hopkins of the sale. She has long been involved with Girl Scouting, both in Montana and Norfolk.

Hopkins said she was “shocked” when she learned the Girl Scout House would go on sale June 2. She, like many others involved with Girl Scouting, remained hopeful that the facility would remain the Girl Scout House.

... The Girl Scouts have until July 17 to empty the house. That’s why a yard sale will be conducted there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12.

The sale will include “lots of kitchen, craft and camping supplies,” Hopkins said. Other items include chairs, conference tables and desks. “Everything must go,” she said.
